He was predeceased by : his parents, Thomas Johnston and Dorothy Johnston; his son Allan Johnston; his wife Linda (Sol); and his son Dale.
He is survived by : his daughters, Marilyn Ruta (Marc) and Christine Tomlin; his son-in-law Dave Tomlin; his grandchildren, Kelli Gavaga (Jordan), Jodi Ruta Orr (Clinton) and Paul Ruta; his great grandchildren, Holden and Callum Gavaga; his brother Sidney Johnston; the mother of his children Eugenie Johnston; and his siblings, Earl (Doreen), Frank (Clara) and Myrtle Grouette. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
