He was predeceased by : his parents, Thomas Johnston and Dorothy Johnston; his sons, Allan Johnston and Dale; and his wife Linda (Sol).
He is survived by : his daughters, Marilyn Ruta (Marc) and Christine Tomlin; his son-in-law Dave Tomlin; his grandchildren, Kelli Gavaga (Jordan), Jodi Ruta Orr (Clinton) and Paul Ruta; his great grandchildren, Holden and Callum Gavaga; his siblings, Sidney Johnston, Earl (Doreen), Frank (Clara) and Myrtle Grouette; and the mother of his children Eugenie Johnston. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
