She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Simkulak and Lydia Simkulak (Bertha); her husband Robert Butterworth; and her siblings, Louis Simkulak (Bob) and Kersteen Bramham.
She is survived by: her daughter Lisa; her sister-in-law Shirley Anne Simkulak of Winnipeg; her niece Nikolai Simkulak of Peterborough; her nephew Kieran Stutely (Apollo); Eli Turner.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, July 30th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre (3030 Notre Dame Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3H1B9).
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Bertha's memory to Bethania Personal Care Home on Concordia Avenue or to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
