It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Desmond Ireland (Brandon, Manitoba), born in Sydney, New South Wales, who passed away on September 15, 2018, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Aileen Kate Ireland and Clarence Ireland; his siblings-in-law, Roy Houghton, Michael Wiley and Patricia Wiley; and his great grandchild Archie Mosis.
He is survived by: his wife Donna; his daughter Susan Clark (Cameron) of Brandon; his grandchildren, Andrew Clark, Laura Clark, Lisa Thurgur (Robert), Cole and Charlotte; his nephew John Wiley (Adrienne); his children, Kim Ireland of Brisbane, Kellie Ireland-Bell (Damien) of Brisbane, Damian Bell (Kate) of Sydney, Peter Houghton (Anne Browning) of Melbourne and Alison Moutter (Chris) of Sydney; and his nephews, Louis Houghton, Esther Houghton, Finley Moutter, Claire Moutter and Kyra Moutter.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in memory of Dr. Ireland to the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Department, Room GB421, 820 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3A 1R9, to be used for education and research, or to a charity of your choice.
