He was predeceased by : his parents, Stewart Pickell and Mary Pickell; his brothers, Cameron and Leonard Pickell; and his son-in-law Gordon Klassen.

He is survived by : his wife Fran Wilson of Neepawa; his children, Brent and Nadine Klassen of East Selkirk; his grandson Riley Klassen (Carly Hamilton); his great grandchild Rowan of Oak Bluff; his granddaughter Jodi Smith (Kristjan); his great grandchildren, Asher and Fynn of East Selkirk; his daughter Holly Brookes (Kinelm) of Portage; his granddaughter Brittany Gent (Brody); his great grandchildren, Brextyn and Brayson of Ituna Sask; and his granddaughter Stephanie Brookes (Joshua Hunt) of Saskatoon, Sask..
