He was predeceased by: his parents, George Widenmaier and Florence Widenmaier; his wife Betty; his siblings, Fred, John, Ronald, Stanley and Mary; his siblings-in-law, Matt, John and Gail; and his great grandchild Halle.

He is survived by: his children, Cory (Erin), Tamara, David (Pam) and Arla (Gene); his siblings, Doris, Violet, Margaret, Melvin, Albert, Gordon, Allan and Herman; his grandchildren, Tiffany (Erik), Tyler (Kaili), Brandon, Devon, Marin and Dawson; his great grandchildren, Jane and Mckennah; and his siblings' children, Lori (Adam), Shirley, Kyle, Tyson, Liz, David, Chris and Shelby. He is also survived by numerous family members and friends.
