He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Gunther and Melane Gunther (Kroeker); his parents-in-law, Isaac and Mika Bergen; his brother-in-law Adrian; and his brothers, David and Edward.

He is survived by: his children, Sonja (Danny), Christy, Steven (Jackie) and BJ; his wife Marita; and his grandchildren, Brooke, Devyn, Marshall, Janae, Camryn, Kesler, Dawson and Delilah.

After COVID, Peter and Marita started consistently attending South Abbotsford Church, along with Christy and her kids.
