He is survived by: his wife Erika; his children, Gilbert, Hanna Steinke, Iris and Ken Kornelsen; his grandchildren, Danielle Steinke (Alex) and Mikayla Steinke (Erin); his sister Gerda Krause; and his brothers-in-law, Adolf and Georg Gutzmann.
