He was predeceased by : his former life partner Kathy; his wife Edna; his parents, Sukeichi and Kameyo; and his siblings, Sonoye, Mary and Reiki.

He is survived by : his children, Percy (Betty), Perry (Melanie), Cheryl (Scott) and Karen (Norman); and his grandchildren, Melissa (Mike), Matthew (Lauren), Braeden, Bryson, Madison (Graeme), Michael (Lindsey), Katrina and Daniel.

“Fred hired me in 1965 to do secretarial work in the Dyck Hatchery after David (son of the late Wm. Dyck) and I married. I admired him in so many ways, not the least was his gentle devotion and friendship for the whole family enterprises and indeed all of Niverville. Sons, daughters, and grandchildren you stand on a Giant’s shoulders. May your memories of him support and carry you through your mourning and missing his presence, though his spirit will surely remain with you. Hildy Dyck”
