He was predeceased by : his parents, Isaac Cornelsen and Justina Cornelsen; his siblings, John (Susan), Evelyn Friesen (Pete), Nettie Rose Cornelsen and Anne Reimer; and his sister-in-law Rose Cornelsen.

He is survived by : his wife Kathy; his son Brian (Marla); his grandsons, Austin, Michael and Tristan; his daughters, Sharon and Gwendolyn; his brothers, Art and Jake (Joyce); and his brother-in-law John Reimer.

In Ed Cornelsen's memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.
