He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Gara and Nellie Gara (Furkalo); and his stepfather Lawrence Sliworski. He is survived by: his siblings, Alan, Joan (Paul Regan) and Janet (Ernie Sirski); his nephews, Bryan Sytnick, Brett Sytnick and Taran Sytnick; his niece Tanis (Rob Chubey); his great-nephew Oren; his great-nieces, Beatrice and Rachel (Jens Jensen); Nicholas, James and Alyssia (Richard Nassif).
