He was predeceased by: his parents, George Wieringa and Virginia Wieringa; his brother Roger; and his brother-in-law Ron. He is survived by: his wife Darlene; and his children, Cory (Karen), Justin (Nicole), Emily, Hailey, Ben and Austin.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba in Paul's memory.

“Darlene, Cory and Justin, Georganne and I are truly sorry to hear of Pauls passing. I was so glad that i had the chance to visit with him at the hospital, even if it was for only a few moments. I always enjoyed Pauls company and will sorely miss our drives into the city to meet the crew from the firehall. We had some fun times at work as well but I won't get into that here, If there is anything you need please do not hesitate to call.”
