Art Sobering Obituary
We announce the death of Art Sobering (Steinbach, Manitoba), who passed away on June 26, 2026, at the age of 91. Art will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Art will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Art will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Art’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Heinrich R. Sobering and Helena Schalla; and his wife Dorothy Ellen Toews. He is survived by: his children, Arthur "James" (Toni), Beverly and Kyle (Holly); his grandson Curtis (Sandy); and his sister Magdalena "Helen". He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren.
