He was predeceased by: his parents, Diedrich Boschmann and Adina Boschmann. He is survived by: his wife Janet; his children, Christin, Eric (Carissa) and Kathryn (Jonathan); his granddaughter Jane; and his brother Irvin (Linda). He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.

“Janet and family; So sorry to hear that Ewald has passed away. I first met him shortly after I joined the Dept of Finance back in 1975. He was a really decent guy and one always enjoyed his company and his council. I was delighted to learn years ago that he had risen through the department to become Deputy Minister, an appointment he earned. We've been in touch via email over the past few years, over fun things like Equalization, and appreciated his willingness despite his health issues. RIP.”
