He was predeceased by: his daughter Suzanna; his parents, Abe Giesbrecht and Agatha Giesbrecht; his siblings, Isaac, Abe, Henry, Jacob and Susan; his parents-in-law, John and Maria Neufeld; his siblings-in-law, Peter, Klass, Franz, Jacob, Judith and Anna Neufeld; his stepgrandson Gavin; and his son Gavin.

He is survived by: his wife Maria; his son Abe (Laura Lee); his grandchildren, Frankie and Bella; his son Johnny (Tia); his grandchildren, Porter and Braven; his son Jake (Annie); his grandchildren, Cody, Tony, Shayna, Jacob and Joshua; his daughter Tina (Jason); his grandchildren, Jadyn, Hunter and Kylie; his daughter Maria (Trevor); his grandchildren, Logan and Carter; and his children, Lisa (Josh), Grace, Nick (Caitlin) and MiraHis.

Viewing was held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM and on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at 12:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the New Bothwell Sommerfeld Mennonite Church (36046 MB-216, Kleefeld, MB R0A0V0).
