He is survived by: his wife Marie (Kroeker); his children, Ingrid Peters (Lorne), Laurel Plett, Leo Schmidt (Pat), Marvin Schmidt (Trisha) and Merle Schmidt (Shelley); his parents-in-law, Cornelius and Eva Kroeker; and his son-in-law Barry Plett. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
