He was predeceased by : his parents, William Schalla and Maria Schalla; his daughter Maxine; his parents-in-law, Peter and Justina Wiebe; and his brother Frank.

He is survived by : his son Mark Schalla (Milly); his grandchildren, Jeff (Owen) and Jori Dueck (Kyle); his daughter Angela Klippenstein (Eric); and his grandsons, Alan (Mason), Mike (Dani) and Brendan (Amelia). He is also survived by many friends, nieces, nephews.
