“Thelma was my cousin, daughter of Aunty Francis and Uncle Louis Dorvault. She stayed with our family after leaving an abusive marriage, for three months until social services found her and the children a place to live in Winnipeg. I remember her smile and how she always seemed to be happy even though her struggles were many. I am saddened to hear of her passing, may she ever rest in peace.
