He was predeceased by : his parents, Abram Unrau and Katharina Unrau; his sister Dora Giesbrecht; and his brothers-in-law, Martin Giesbrecht and Peter Sawatzky.

He is survived by : his children, Micheal Unrau (Lisa Jenkins) and Charlene (Paul Young); his siblings, Susie (Peter Friesen), Tina Sawatzky, Mary (Jake Doerksen), Lisa (Norm Wiebe), Martha (Abe Unrau), Ann (Cornie Hiebert), Hilda (Bill Nickel), Lena (Jake Nickel), Alvira (Darcy Penner), Ben (Marge Unrau) and George (Elma Unrau); and his grandchildren, Ed Young, Ben Young, Ellie Young, Ethan Jenkins and Tristan Jenkins. He is also survived by his parents and 11 siblings.
