He was predeceased by: his parents, Georg Karl Trapp and Dora Trapp; his siblings, Helmut and Alfrede Tate; and his wife Helene Roeske.

He is survived by: his sons, Eberhardt and Harold (Marge); his grandchildren, Kelly and Nathaniel; his siblings, Georg (Birthe), Sonja and Elske Evans (Neil); and his siblings-in-law, Christel, Edelgard Roeske and Siegfried Roeske (Christel). He is also survived by his family, friends.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Birchwood Funeral Chapel (162 MB-52, Steinbach, MB R5G1Y1). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

In 2012, he was honored with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his outstanding contributions to Canadian society.
