He was predeceased by: his parents, Stan Kayer and Martha Kayer; his brothers, Edward and Brian; his brother-in-law Jim Johnson; and his pets, Buttons, Shadow, Cinder and Freebie.
He is survived by: his sons, Joel, Paul and Michael (Bethany); his wife Brenda; and his grandchildren, Abigail, Samuel and Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
