He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh and Bernice; his brothers, Thomas and Ian; his brother-in-law James Kavanagh; and his nephew Steven Hodgkinson.

He is survived by: his siblings, Dennis, Jill, Joan (Frank), Hugh (Cheri) and Andrew (Na Lin); his sister-in-law Chrissie; his nieces and nephews, Samuel (Irene), Ian (Katrina), Kristen (Garry), Raianne, Nicole (Kyle), Tarra (John), Skyelar, Justin (Jennifer), Sabrina (Will), Daniel and Oliver; his partner's sons, Josh and Kurtis (Megan); and his grandchildren, Rowan and Jude.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
