We announce the death of Hanley Gates in Treherne, Manitoba, who passed away on May 31, 2026, at the age of 92. Hanley will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Gates and Marjorie Gates; his siblings, Donald, Barry Gates, Jessie Clark and Deanna Durand; his brothers-in-law, Lorne Clark, Raymond Timmerman, Greg Dowhy, Hubert Durand, David, Donald, Evan, Gerald and Larry Lounsbury; his in-laws, Orville and Megan Lounsbury; his sister-in-law Shirley Trollope; his cousin Gloria Carlstad; his aunts, Bella Carlstad and Winnie LeBarre; and his uncle John Miller.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn; his children, Terri (Brent) and Rodney (Robin); his sisters, Leona Timmerman and Daisy Dowhy; and his siblings-in-law, Irene Nicoll (Alan), Brian Lounsbury, Bruce Lounsbury (Joyce), Ron Lounsbury (Bonnie) and Edward Lounsbury (Dorothy). He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
