He was predeceased by : his son Perry Aarhus; and his siblings, Myrtle Giesbrecht (John), Annie Buhler (Dan), Ewald Aarhus and Alvin Aarhus (Leona).

He is survived by : his daughters, Mavis Aarhus (Ernie), Lila Aarhus and Lorraine Mitchell (Scotty); his sister-in-law Dorothy Aarhus; and his parents, Marie and Knute. He is also survived by two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
