He was predeceased by: his parents, Abram Funk and Agatha Funk; and his wife Nettie Thiessen. He is survived by: his children, Elma Unrau (George), Barb Penner (Jake), Jake Funk (Mary) and Elizabeth Banman (Alvin). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, two sisters, and one brother.
Viewing was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Birchwood Funeral Chapel (162 MB-52, Steinbach, MB R5G1Y1). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
