He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Thiessen and Justina Thiessen; his brother Hugo; his brother-in-law Peter Wiebe; and his nephew Rob Thiessen.
He is survived by: his wife Hedy; his son Todd (Mary Catherine); his grandsons, Joseph, Liam and Howard; his daughter Tanya (Darryl); his grandchildren, Saraya and Trystan; and his siblings, Esther, Howard (Judy), Bob (Sharon) and David (Noani).
