He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Smerchanski and Nettie Smerchanski; and his siblings, William, Peter and Helen.

He is survived by : his wife Rose; his daughters, Wendy (Sylwester), Karen (Brian) and Lori (Daniel); his grandchildren, Tabetha, Cody (Hanna), Ryan and Shelby; his stepgrandchildren, Keila and Brett; his great grandchildren, Kaysten and Penelope; and his sisters, Mary and Pauline.
