He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernhard Hildebrand and Margaret Hildebrand; and his wife Esther. He is survived by: his son Robert of Winkler; his granddaughter Samantha Dyck (Henry) of Roland; his great grandchildren, Jennifer and Jessica Dyck; his grandson Bradley Hildebrand (Jenna) of Gretna; his daughter Colleen Mantler (John) of Winnipeg; his sister Anne Fehr (Bill); and his sisters-in-law, Evelyn Hildebrand of Ontario, Martie Hildebrand of Alberta and Anne Evans. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
