He was predeceased by : his wife Elizabeth (Betty); his grandson Tyson; his son-in-law Neil Thage; his parents, John and Tatianna (Wazilowski); and his siblings, Helen Slater, Mary Kanski, Karolina Irving, Pauline Olson and Peter Kansky.

He is survived by : his children, Richard (Karen), Joanne and George (Loretta); his grandchildren, Cynthia, Cortney (Rob), Nolan (Dana), Chris (Lehna), Jenna (Chris) and Tatianna (Stefan); his great grandchildren, Aubrey, Theo, Hadley, Kayley, Breydan, Emileigh, Johanna, Brielle and Bryson; and his siblings, Nellie Hillaby of Winnipeg and Mike. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
