He was predeceased by: his wife Louise Doerksen; his daughter Charlotte Coyston; and his parents, Heinrich Doerksen and Katherine Doerksen. He is survived by: his children, Stan Doerksen (Carol) and Ruth Bonneville (Richard); his grandchildren, Charity Van Tine (Bart), Sarah Coyston, Justin Bonneville and Celine Cramer (Graydon); his great grandchildren, Penelope, Cordelia Reed and Jacob Cramer; and his siblings, Henry, Kay, Eddie (Eva), Andy (Frances), Bill (Anne), Earnie (Nellie), Herman (Mae), Leonard (Madelene) and Sonny. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
