He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph and Vivian. He is survived by: his siblings, Karen Hekle, David Lernout (Lynn) and Wendy Van Walleghem (Greg); his brother-in-law Grant Hekle; and his cousin Dan Sullivan. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be in Dennis's memory to The Canadian Diabetes Association.
