He was predeceased by: his father Heinrich Wiebe; his stepfather Matthew Daniel Schiedel; and his niece Callahan Mae Derstine. He is survived by: his mother Sheila Darlene Carter Schiedel (Smith) of Harleysville, Pennsylvania.; his children, Ryan Michael Kurtz (Breanna) of Myakka City, Florida, Maslin Rae Kurtz of Myakka City, Florida, Wesley Owen Kurtz of Myakka City, Florida and Elias Whitfield Kurtz of Myakka City, Florida; his grandson Nolan Michael Kurtz of Myakka City, Florida; his sisters, Abbe Rae Fahem of Harleysville, Julie Anna Carter of Sellersville and Lucy Alison Derstine of Harleysville, Pennsylvania; his nephew Aidan Michael Derstine of Harleysville, Pennsylvania; and his brothers-in-law, Steve Abdenour Fahem of Harleysville and Michael Scot Derstine of Sellersville, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by numerous cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
