He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuben Olson and Florence Olson; his brother Cliff Olson; his nephew Gordon Olson; and his brothers-in-law, Gunner Norberg, Erwin Wesner and Erling Olimb.

He is survived by: his wife Gertrude; his children, John Olson (Judy), Marna Wheaton (Stephen), Leanne Olson (Rink) and Nancy Olson; his grandchildren, Christina Olson-Johannesen (Adam), Sarah Olson and Eric Olson; his great grandchildren, Casey and Mason Johannesen; and his sisters, Delphie Norberg and Doreen Lindquist. He is also survived by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren and extended family.
