Emily Markiw Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Emily Markiw of Winnipeg, Manitoba, who passed away on September 8, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Emily leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.

She was predeceased by: her husband Bohdan Markiw (Bob); her brothers, Milan and Ján Tyrala; and her adoptive father Gerald. She is survived by: her sisters-in-law, Jenovefa (Milan) and Alena Tyralová (Ján); her niece Alena Abrahámová; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Zdenko and Milan; and her goddaughters, Sarah and Laura Stelmack.
