She was predeceased by: her parents, Zulmira Da Costa Pinto and Antonio Luis Maduro; and her children, Leonel Sousa and Belmira Sousa-Vannevel. She is survived by: her husband Amandio Sousa; her children, Elsa Sousa (Gordon) and David Sousa; and her grandsons, Matthew, Brandon, Michael and Stephen. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
