He was predeceased by: his parents, Olga Koch and George Koch of Toronto. He is survived by: his wife Jean; his children, Bryce (Mia Pohl) and Abby (Matt Walker); his sister-in-law Rose Marie (Gord Hodge); his siblings, Donna (Jorge Blanco), Robin (David Maunder) and Ted (Rita Koch); his nieces, Kristen and Lauren; his nephew Noah; his friends, Sid Shoib, Wayne and Allan; and his close friend Jack Dubnicoff.

A prayer was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Cropo Funeral Chapel (1442 Main St, Winnipeg, MB R2W3V7). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church (250 Jefferson Ave, Winnipeg, MB R2V0M6).

In George's honour and in lieu of flowers, he wished to have friends and family extend kindness to someone in need.
