He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Sawatzky and Bernhard Sawatzky; his parents-in-law, Abram and Aganetha Friesen (Petkau); his wife Hilda Sawatzky (Friesen); his siblings, Ben, John Sawatzky, Erika Krempler and Elsie Reimer; and his siblings-in-law, Gordon Friesen and Helen Sawatzky.
He is survived by: his daughters, Iris Krahn (Harry), Cathleen Joyce Penner (Melvin), Pamela Charlebois (Peter) and Lynnette Regehr (Julian); his grandchildren, Adam, Tyler, Justin Krahn, Leah Penner (Randy), Rebecca Wiebe (Ryan), Brandon Charlebois (Hollie), Caleb Charlebois (Micah), Kaelyn, Luke (Melissa) and Erin Regehr; his great grandchildren, Jessa, Silas Krahn, Abby, Owen Wiebe, Glory and Zelie Charlebois; and his siblings, Jake, Irene, Vic, Louie, Emmy and Hedy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Concordia Village (1125 Molson St, Winnipeg, MB R2K0A7).
