He was predeceased by: his parents, Frens and Helen; his son Bryan; his siblings, Frank, Henk and Diane; and his parents-in-law, Johanna and Jan Brik.

He is survived by: his wife Atie Brik; his children, Joanne and Robert (Chérie); his grandchildren, Alexandre, Lachlan, Andrew and Maëlle; and his siblings, Ken (Betsy), Greta (Jake) and George. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
