She was predeceased by: her parents, Elie Kostenchuk and Lilly Kostenchuk; and her husband Ernie. She is survived by: her daughters, Sharon (Ihor Holinka) and Wendy (Myron Semegen); her grandchildren, Ulana (Josh), Stephen, Christina (Marvick), Michael (Alexandra), Alexander (Iryna) and Laryssa (Mohammad); her great grandchildren, Isabella, Sophia, William, Mykola and Charlize; and her siblings, Elsie, Jean, George and Orest. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 9th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church (505 Watt St, Winnipeg, MB R2K1K5).

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre.

“My condolences to her family/friends. I have known Helen for 50 years as I was a regular customer at Hel-Ern`s on Henderson.Johnson back in the 70`s. I went to their retirement at her daughter`s home. Helen was a hardworker keeping a meticulous home. I bought delicious perogies from her as well. At long last I believe she is with Jesus her Saviour along with her beloved Ernie. Her world fell apart when she lost Ernie. They also were often seen volunteering at Holy Eucharist together.. God Bless!”
