He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth; his parents, Peter W. Friesen and Tina Friesen; his brothers, Pete, Menno, Charley and Ben; Corneilus, Elizabeth Enns, John Enns and Herman Penner.

He is survived by: his children, Sharon Lambrecht (Ken) and Darren Friesen (Mechelle); his grandchildren, Melissa Debroni (Braeden), Dusty Friesen, Evan Lambrecht, Garrett Lambrecht and Nyle Friesen; his great grandchildren, Allison, Harmony, Solara, Draco, Zane, Carter, Isabella, Grace and Olivia; his siblings, Kay, Marie, Lydia, Martha, Jake, Andrew and Ruben; his sister-in-law Ruth; Hilda, Helen, Elma, Barb and Steve. He is also survived by four sisters-in-law.
