He was predeceased by: his wife Geraldine Hamilton; and his father David. He is survived by: his children, Anne (Chris), David and Stephen (Barbara); his stepdaughters, Kathy Elminshawi, Sally Lein (Bruce) and Penny Gilbertson (Bob); and his grandchildren, Josh, Jamie, Zachary, Lucas, Robyn, Sarah, Amy (Joe), Erik (Katy), Ali, Beth (Alistair) and Kate. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra in honour of Ian Hamilton.
