He was predeceased by: his parents, Nikolai Shykitka and Ethel Shykitka (Hosaluk); his brother Kelly Shykitka; his niece Twyla Woloshyn; and his nephews, Michael Maksymiw and Nicholas Shykitka.
He is survived by: his wife Janet; his children, Kaitlin (Max), Natasha (Carlos) and Alicia; his grandchildren, Avery, Liam and Sophia; his parents-in-law, Melvin and Camilla Rawluk; his siblings, Ron Shykitka, Brad Shykitka (Kelly), Arlene Woloshyn (Brian), Gail Shykitka, Karen Shykitka, Lori Shykitka, Sandy Maksymiw (Terry) and Carol Koroluk; and his brother-in-law Wayne Rawluk (Adrienne). He is also survived by 67 nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
