She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Owen Albrechtsen; her parents, Arthur Schelfaut and Melba Schelfaut; her daughter Lori Joyal (Noël); her grandchildren, Désirée Furletti-Joyal (Eric), Gordon (Brittany), Donald and Richard; and her grandmother Yellow. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Joan's name to the Grace Hospital Foundation, or to a charity of one's choice.
