She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Porteous and Ellen Porteous; and her sister-in-law Betty Porteous. She is survived by: her brother Ken (Judith); her niece Jamie La (Patrick); her nephew Miko; and her great-niece Morgan.
In lieu of flowers we request that donations be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society in her honour as Joan always had a soft spot for cats or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in her honour.
