He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, José Borges and Ilda Borges; his wife Manuela; his daughters, Maria (Dmitri), Carla (Josef) and Veronica (Chris); his grandchildren, Dominic, Ella, Grace, Eleanor and Reegan; his brother Roy (Neves); and his siblings-in-law, John (Grimoalda) and Natalia. He was also cherished by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
