He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Soares and Carolina Soares; his brother Manuel Jr.; and his wife Maria Leonilde Soares. He is survived by: his daughters, Connie Maria (Michel), Carolina (Phil), Susie (Jason), Calum, Nicole, Nora, Luke and Erik.
