He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hinds and Hermine Hinds; his mother-in-law Jo Coulter; his sister Beverly; and his siblings-in-law, Donald Mackey and Anne Coulter.

He is survived by: his wife Beryl; his brother Reid (Diane); his children, Rick, Dave (Diane), Cathy Couper (Rob) and Karen Ellchuk (Trevor); his grandchildren, Allison (Brennan), Bryon, Kyle, Carlee, Brendan, Tyler and Mathew; and his great grandchildren, Hailey, Chantel, Violet and Rosie. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins.
