He was predeceased by: his former wife Carolyn; and his stepson Ronald Kitchen. He is survived by: his wife Louise; his sister Mary; his daughters, Lisa Tucker (Robert) and Andrea Ilchyshyn (Chris); his grandchildren, Matthew and Alexa; his stepdaughter Susan Johnston (Roy); his grandchildren, Michael, Shannon, Tim Kitchen (Darlene), Tanis, Sage and Olivia; his daughter-in-law Sharon Miller; and his grandchildren, Tasha, Sarah, Dale Kitchen (Cheryl), Skylar and Madison. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
