He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry Marek and Annie Marek; his parents-in-law, Steve and Stella Drebit; and his siblings, Ron and Ethel.
He is survived by: his wife Jane (Drebit); his children, Chris (Victoria), Ryan and Shannon (Blaine McDougall); and his grandchildren, Matthew and Samantha.
