He was predeceased by: his parents, Lingkod Sr. Sarmiento and Luz Sarmiento; and his sister Lena Sayuno. He is survived by: his wife Jisselle Buan; his children, Rebeka, Ali and Kyle; his siblings, Lingkod Jr. (Ivy), Leni, Lydia Gloria (Arthur) and Leah Loria (Ferd); and his nieces and nephews, Melissa, Julian, Kalvin, Ainsleigh, Yasmin, Alyshia, Aidan, Karson, Anabel and Isabel. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

In honour and memory of Lysander Sarmiento, contributions may be made to the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba.
