She was predeceased by: her husband John; and her parents, David Martens and Justina Martens. She is survived by: her children, Ken, Darlene (Ron), Tim, Janice (Ken) and Ley (Ray); and her siblings, Pete, Bill (Mary), Richard (Hilda) and Jessie. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson.
Nettie will be remembered for her strong faith and kind, loving spirit and was fondly known as the Cookie Lady thanks to her contributions to the food hampers provided through St. John's Presbyterian Church, something she continued to provide well into her illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John's Presbyterian Church or the Riverview Health Centre Foundation.
